L’idea da cui è nato Frogbyte è frutto letteralemente di migliaia e migliaia di ore di LAN party.
Nel 2013 A.F.B.P. (Associazione Fragger Basso Piave), dopo aver collaudato la possibilitá di organizzare un LAN party durante la Fiera dell’Elettronica di Pordenone, si è messa in contatto con altre associazioni e gruppi del territorio per dare il via a questo progetto.
Così ad A.F.B.P. si unirono FurLAN, Players’ LAiR e Videogiocatori FVG (e in seguito anche lan.h4x0r) e nel 2014 si tenne la prima edizione di Frogbyte LAN Party, che contando più di un centinaio di partecipanti per 3 giorni ininterrotti di gaming e divertimento cementò le basi dell’evento che adesso è diventato il più grande e divertente in Italia nel settore del gaming non competitivo.
L’esperienza accumulata in anni di gaming e LAN party (anche più di 15 in alcuni casi) ha fornito agli organizzatori di Frogbyte LAN party gli strumenti necessari ad affrontare le sfide tecnologiche e a organizzare una serie di attivitá, tornei e momenti di intrattenimento che coinvolgono tutti i partecipanti e negli anni li ha soddisfatti a tal punto che in molti fedelissimi sostengono tuttora il progetto e partecipano a tutte le iniziative che proponiamo.
Di anno in anno lo Staff Frogbyte si è dato da fare per migliorare il proprio evento principale (che continua a svolgersi ogni aprile durante la Fiera dell’Elettronica di Pordenone), puntando di volta in volta ad aumentare il numero dei posti disponibili per i giocatori (che nel 2019 sono stati più di 300) e a coinvolgere sempre di più in competizioni entusiasmanti e attivitá esilaranti sempre nuove generazioni di videogiocatori, che spesso non hanno mai provato l’ebrezza del giocare “dal vivo” insieme ai propri amici, troppo abituati alla routine del multigaming online.
Con il susseguirsi delle edizioni si è evoluto in un evento a tutto tondo, aggiungendo al LAN party uno pazio di stand espositivi di associazioni e aziende dedicate al settore dei videogiochi. Sono accolti, in particolare, vari esponenti del settore dello sviluppo di videogiochi così da fornire visibilità e supportare questo settore ancora giovane in Italia.
Frogbyte è realizzato senza scopo di lucro e grazie al lavoro volontario dei suoi organizzatori e al fondamentale supporto della sua community. L’intero ricavato dalla vendita dei biglietti e del merchandising viene utilizzato per migliorare l’evento e far vivere un’esperienza unica ai partecipanti.
Frogbyte ASD è un associazione sportiva dilettantistica che ha lo scopo di promuovere, diffondere e praticare le discipline legate agli e-sports dal vivo e online:
– creando attivitá ricreative ed educative;
– organizzando e partecipando all’oganizzazione di manifestazioni, fiere, gare, tornei e campionati;
– producendo e distribuendo contenuti informativi e di intrattenimento a tema videoludico.

– creando attivitá ricreative ed educative;

Continuando ad organizzare annualmente il nostro evento principale (Frogbyte LAN Party), negli anni abbiamo partecipato a diverse importanti fiere del settore promuovendo il gaming nell’ottica del divertimento “sociale” e producendo centiaia di ore di contenuti online attraverso le nostre piattaforme social (Facebook, Twitch, Youtube e Instagram).
Dal 2017 si è scelto quindi di fondare un’associazione sportiva dilettantistica, affiliata quindi al CONI, in modo da avere la possibilitá di organizzare i nostri eventi nel rispetto delle normative e promuovere ufficialmente le nostre attivitá nel panorama sportivo nazionale.
